| Jesse Mccartney - Mccartney Denies Online Dating
LATEST: U.S. teen pop sensation JESSE MCCARTNEY has denied he is looking for love online - insisting he set up a profile on a dating site for a "joke". The 20-year-old told U.S. magazine In Touch Weekly he had signed up to Jewish dating site JDate.com - even though he isn't Jewish. MCCartney, who recently ended his romance with David Cassidy's daughter Katie, admits he did join the website - but only for amusement and not as a serious way to meet women. He tells America's Us Weekly, "I just wanted to set the record straight and let everyone know that the profile I created on JDate was a joke! "I was hanging' with some friends and we thought that it would be really funny to see peoples' reactions. The hilarity of it all is that until I announced having a profile on the site, nobody believed it was me.
American Idol Buzz
The reaction when Chris gets voted off is probably the best in Idol history. His confidence melts instantly into shock and anger. Kat's jaw drops to the ground. See the stills and watch the video at this site before Fox pulls it. A few bloggers complained that the previous link I had included to the Chris departure had gay advertising and such. If that offends you, stick with the youtube.com link above. But in fairness, the original link is a lot clearer so you can check it out here if you choose.. Couple surrenders to tractor pull of love
CARLISLE, Pa. — Sonya Rinker was looking for a guy: someone who was kind, respectful and had a special place in his heart ... for tractors. She wanted a man who could share the thrill of a good tractor-pull show, who could see beauty in a shiny row of green and yellow of John Deere tractors. She didn't know that somewhere along these rolling Pennsylvania hills, there was such a man, a shy guy named Tom with two vintage Deere tractors. He had been looking for a gal, someone who'd put up with his milking cows at 3 a.m. and his six-day work weeks. Sonya Rinker and Tom Henisee lived 57 miles apart when they both signed up for an online matchmaking service designed to link up people just like them — farmers and others who know their way around a barn and a milking machine. .
N.D. ag commissioner: Castro resignation shouldn't harm trade deals
Cuban dictator Fidel Castro's decision to relinquish power should not affect North Dakota's ongoing efforts to sell farm products to Cuba, Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson says."I don't think this is going to have a great deal of impact, at least from the vantage point that we have had in our relations with Cuba," Johnson said Wednesday during a telephone conference call from Havana.Johnson is leading a North Dakota trade mission to Cuba this week. He said Wednesday that no sales had yet been completed. Most talks have focused on selling dry peas, which account for most of an estimated $30 million in North Dakota agricultural sales to Cuba in the last six years.Johnson also has been trying to work out a snag that has developed in the sale of 100 tons of North Dakota seed potatoes to Cuba.
Readers Forum: Memories of Myron
He knew Myron through some business dealings, and asked him if he could stop by. Myron said that he would try. Not only did Myron "stop by," he golfed with my dad. At some point, by pure coincidence, a sprinkler went off right as Myron was addressing his ball. The next few moments are what my dad describes as the funniest moment of his life. He jumped about 3 feet in the air, yelling at my dad, "Chuck, you sonuva???.! You did this on purpose, you're done for! My lawyers will take ya for everything you're worth!" Grown men were crying from laughing so hard. And, of course, Myron joined everyone for the 19th hole and proceeded to tell story after story well into the night. Matthew Keith, Pittsburgh What a privilege it was for so many of us to grow up listening to the two last, great originals of their sports -- Bob Prince for the Pirates and Myron Cope for the Steelers.

Online Education Takes Off in India
It's a Sunday afternoon and class time for 39-year-old IT worker Seema Shetty. Her feet curled under her in a swivel chair, she sits in front of a computer monitor, adjusts a set of headphones, and scribbles in a notebook. Shetty, who works for consulting firm Mastek in Mumbai, is in a virtual classroom in the Vile Parle suburb, where a dozen computers link students to some of India's elite management institutions. Today's class is a three-hour general management lecture, part of the online education course conducted by the Xavier Labor Relations Institute in Jamshedpur, in the remote northern Indian state of Jharkhand. A consultant for various industries from insurance to banking, Shetty signed up for an online certificate course to "learn more about my clients' business requirements," she says.
Naples man gets 20 years for sex acts with teens
A 45-year-old Naples man who had sex with a 16-year-old girl and her friend was sentenced to 20 years in a state prison Wednesday after pleading to charges involving sex with minors. Michael Gerard O'Brien, 45, plead no contest to two counts of unlawful sexual acts with minors and failure to appear for a felony hearing for jumping bail and going to New Orleans after posting $200,000 bond in May 2006. Although he plead no contest, O'Brien said, “I'm sorry," and that he took full responsibility for his actions. The girls' relatives, many crying, called the sentence justice. A mother said O'Brien provided the girls with the date-rape drug so they'd have sex and a stepfather said O'Brien convinced one that they were in love, that sex was love. “It's been two years of hell for those kids," one of the girls' grandmothers said afterward, adding that he gave her granddaughter the date rape drug.

Moving forward: Area churches help newfound singles overcome divorce
Depression. Loneliness. Anger. Those are three of the emotional and spiritual struggles DivorceCare groups that meet at local churches are designed to help people overcome. The groups also help men and women deal with challenges such as raising children and handling finances as someone who is single again. Sid Norton is facilitator of the DivorceCare group at Trinity Worship Center in Burlington. He described the group as a "safe place" for someone going through separation or divorce. People sign an agreement that there will be no dating among group members while they are in the program, which leaves room for friendships and supportive relationships. Sometimes group members will go for coffee or dinner after a session. Group members learn how to deal productively with their problems.
